Audrey Genest Landscape Designer
Audrey is a landscape designer who is passionate about the transformative power landscapes have in deepening our connection to place. Her experiences growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area were foundational in shaping this understanding, fostering a deep-rooted appreciation for urban environments and the natural world. As a designer, she strives to reframe the lens in which we view landscapes by celebrating the rich intrinsic and extrinsic elements that define a place. Audrey’s design interests focus on exploring how community-centric design can foster placemaking and facilitate knowledge exchange.
Before joining Unknown Studio, Audrey was a landscape designer in New York City, where she contributed to a diverse array of projects ranging from public spaces to cultural institutions. Audrey holds a Master’s of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida. Both of these backgrounds equip her with the insight needed to navigate through the complex socio-ecological challenges we face today. In her personal time, Audrey enjoys bird-watching, crafting, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
