The University of Louisville Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute Appoints Unknown Studio
We are proud to announce that Unknown Studio has been selected to lead landscape design for the New Vision of Health Campus located in Downtown Louisville, Ky. This exciting project for the University of Louisville Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute includes adaptive reuse of two historic buildings, and the revisioning of an adjoining garden site for research on the environmental impacts of health. The proposed facade for the campus is a representation of the karst cliffs present throughout Kentucky, which our team explored on a recent visit, to foster stormwater diversion in partnership with Louisville Metro Government. The design consultant team is led by Louisville-based K. Norman Berry Associates Architects.
The Envirome Institute researches a holistic view of health and empowers researchers, along with community members, to examine connections between our environment and human health.
Unknown Studio brings expertise garnered from prior on-structure projects. The project provides an opportunity for a resilient and inclusive landscape with a focus on physical, mental, and emotional health. Unknown Studio looks forward to collaborating with the Envirome team and lead consultant KNBA on this exciting project.
